What is “Reactivity?”
It can be many things! Even though we see the term everywhere, reactivity is not a scientifically defined term.
Positive reinforcement and LIMA trainers like me use the term to refer to almost ANY over-the-top response to a something normal or different.
That might look like fear, shyness, anger, aggression, guarding, barking, lunging, extreme zoomies, nipping, panting, jumping, and excessive greetings.
That covers a lot, but the same basic principles can apply to them all - help your dog or pet learn how to breathe, check in, and feel better about their situation and their triggers.
I help train skills to encourage content where they might usually be frustrated, or trust and predictability in a situation they find unpredictable and overwhelming.
