Meet Your Trainer

I have been working with animals for over 10 years. I’ve always had a passion for animal welfare leading me to certification in positive training and specialization in separation anxiety which effects dogs and their guardians profoundly.

When I worked at Smithsonian’s National Zoo as a Bird House animal keeper I worked with a variety of species including individual birds who were sometimes sensitive, aggressive, and anxious. As a zookeeper I was very concerned with enrichment and cooperative care. I was able to attend professional workshops, seminars, and shadowing experiences on science-based positive training.

I carried these skills into my career as a dog trainer where I focused on building a total relationship between pet parents and their dogs, developing and empowering behavior skills, by working on a range of goals from puppy development to reactivity.

Since then, I have specialized in separation anxiety which is unique due to both its intensity as well as the relief that appropriate protocols can provide. Separation anxiety training is my main focus now because of the widespread need and the powerful value for dogs and their guardians.
